Class of 2025

Rivier University welcomed the Class of 2025 at its annual Academic Convocation ceremony on September 7. The ceremony celebrated the largest full-time undergraduate class in the last eight years and marked the first day of their academic careers at the University.

Convocation began with the traditional student processional across campus to the University’s Athletics Pavilion, where faculty and staff gathered for the event. Sister Paula Marie Buley, IHM, Rivier’s President, acknowledged the unique challenges this class has faced over the last year and remarked on their resilience. She spoke of Rivier University’s history and mission, and she asked students to consider what they hoped to achieve during their time at the University—to make resolutions—and to write their own Rivier stories over the course of the next four years.

“Write your story each day … challenge assumptions, strive for the common good, work to finish what is still unfinished along the Convocation pinsway in our nation and ourselves,” said Sister Paula.

Ice Cream SocialFollowing the ceremony, class members attended a series of Student Success sessions focused on strengths-based learning and preparation for academic success. As a sweet ending to the day, the Class of 2025 celebrated with ice cream and time for socializing on the Campus Quad.

First-year students began classes on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.
