Background

Melissa received a Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University and her Doctorate degree as part of a dual program in School and Clinical Psychology from Rivier University. Along the way, she received a Master of Education in School Counseling degree from Liberty University. Her internship was in community mental health and her post-doctoral experience has been both in school-based counseling and assessment as well as clinical private practice. Melissa has more than a decade of experience working in public school systems as a school counselor and a school psychologist.

Specialties

Melissa is a psychologist who specializes in working with children and adolescents. Melissa has a plethora of experience in the school setting as well as the clinical setting. Her background includes trauma-informed interventions, family systems, psychoeducational assessment, as well as LGBTQIA+ youth. Her research includes implementing positive psychology into complex systems to increase the level of wellbeing in the work environment. Melissa also has experience building needs-based groups in an effort for clients to collectively support one another. She is intentional with including trauma-informed care into each aspect of sessions.
